Somebody will pay.” -Hillary Clinton

As a practical matter, climate change policy and resource exploitation policy should not be so closely entwined that we decline to build Keystone XL or leave oil (and money) in the ground. The goal should be to reduce our need for oil rather than the supply (on which our effect is limited.

MIT’s free online classes now have a pathway to a degree!

California has become a right to dry state! It’s a bit of a dilemma for libertarian-types as it pits ownership against contracts. I fall in favor of the former and consider it perfectly appropriate for California to say “Home ownership has to include this as a right and privilege.”… but I’m not a very good libertarian.

Some Hungarians want you to know that they are sorry about their Prime Minister.

Sometimes I miss the Mountain West. Meanwhile, in New Jersey… and Europe!

Video game voice actors are going on strike. Game companies don’t seem too worried.

But hasn’t this guy heard of the NJ/PA minimum wage experiment?

Relatedly, regardless of the merits, that a majority of Republicans in Pennsylvania support raising the minimum wage ought to scare the crap out of the GOP.

This reminds me of when all of the guns were out to explain that there was no good reason to object to a black stormtrooper when in fact there was almost nobody actually objecting to a black stormtrooper. Except about sports.

Will Truman (trumwill) is a southern transplant in the mountain east with an IT background who bides his time taking care of their daughter while his wife brings home the bacon. Which games will you be watching today?

To me the game of the day will be The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party (3:30 CBS). I will probably have Rutgers @ Wisconsin on (noon BTN) as well as Notre Dame @ Temple (8 ABC).

Not going to be able to watch too much today, I’m afraid.

Watching A&M vs South Carolina at the moment.

Will probably be able to catch some of the Southern Tech game.

Yes, I see that STU is playing Cooper University.

I am looking forward to STU’s game in two weeks.

For what it’s worth, if I were betting, I would bet on Cooper.

Texas A&M wearing a holiday uniform is just wrong. That would be like Penn State putting a lion on their helmet.

      Minnesota-Michigan. Man.

      • Mike Hunt Ray Rice says:

Well I hope you didn’t follow your advice.

As for this game, maybe MN forgot that even though the clock stops for a first down, it restarts on the ready-for-play signal. It isn’t like an incomplete pass.

        • trumwill says:

I did not follow my advice. Cooper’s offense is ridiculously bad, it turns out.

I am pretty sure you’re right about Minnesota. There is undoubtedly a lot of self-kicking going on today.

Greetings from Stonebridge a fictitious city in a fictitious state located in a tri-state area in the interior Mid-Atlantic region. We're in western Queenland, which is really a state unto itself, and not to be confused with Queensland in Australia.

Nothing written on this site should be taken as strictly true, though if the author were making it all up rest assured the main character and his life would be a lot less unremarkable.
