Crime keeps getting better, but we keep thinking it’s getting worse . Given the vested interest that everybody from government (We need new laws! Elect me!) to corporations (Buy our security system!) to media (If it bleeds, it leads!), I suppose it’s no bit surprise.
This is just wrong. Not just because I hate, hate, hate “LOL” but also because we shouldn’t teach young people to type one way and then force them to learn another. Trial by fire, I say.

My father got a MagicJack and likes it a great deal. Here’s a mostly winning review. It’s something to consider if we can get an Arapaho area code. Then again, everybody there speaks in 4-digit phone numbers.

Agreed. Like any other product, Apple products have their pluses and minuses. Sadly, those that worship at the Apple altar only see the pluses.
I don’t know. Anytime I try to go to YouTube on my Blackberry, it sucks down the battery life quickly. Or run any other Flash-type content. That has nothing to do with Apple – it’s a fact of life that Flash is a power hog on handheld mobile devices of all stripes.
And I’ve already vowed to slap my kids upside the head (figuratively, of course) if I ever see them using chat or text abbreviations in real life. They’ve been pretty good about it. That said, small smiley “helper” screens make it easier to choose a graphic emoticon when using some applications. But those are slightly different than LOL and TTYL. And the far worse “I m goin 2 t mall 4 my bday” crap…
