Alabama law firm Beasley Allen has filed a class action lawsuit against Taco Bell that claims the chain is falsely calling its taco filling “seasoned beef” and “seasoned ground beef” when allegedly the mixture, which would be more properly called “Taco Meat Filling,” only contains 36% beef. The firm is not asking for money, but is instead asking the chain to make changes to their menu to reflect the food they are serving.
… makes me hanker for some processed taco beef product.

I’m reminded of an old episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer where Buffy was working at a fast-food place. Though it at first looked like the place was grinding up its workers and serving them as meat, it turned out (gasp) that there was no meat in their product at all, just vegetable matter.
I like the line from the manager: “If people found out this stuff was healthy, they’d never eat here.”
Anyway, I’m wondering what exactly is in that “beef” Taco Bell is serving. I’m sure it’s okay to eat, but what is it? Organ meat? Tongue? Ground-up hooves? The mind reels…
You just bumped buffy up a few spots on my to-watch list. The article has a list on non-meat products, though I don’t know what part of the cow they get the actual meat from.
The filler is mostly starch, according to the article.

Amen, brother.
I wonder if these lawyers are going to sue Jamaican beef patty manufacturers too, because the filling is actually ground beef, spices, and breadcrumbs, rather than just ground beef. Meh.
