As I’ve mentioned before, DeVry University has its share of proud alums.
Interestingly, the University of Phoenix has at least one.
On my drive to work this morning, I saw a UoP license plate frame. I didn’t know they sold those. I didn’t know anybody would buy one. I definitely didn’t think anyone would actually put one on their car.
Maybe getting their own football stadium really has helped!

I have a USF license-plate frame. Mediocre colleges RULE!
And honestly, why shouldn’t the guy be proud? The few people I’ve known from the ivy league weren’t all that impressive. I’m starting to think that all colleges are more or less equal.
For what it’s worth, I wouldn’t have had those thoughts on seeing a South Florida frame. USF is more than just a directional college. But even a directional college (or a Cal State or {insert person’s name here} State U) wouldn’t raise any eyebrows.
The thought had occurred to me that some people out here would say “Why does that guy bother to put a Southern Tech University license plate frame? Some people here went to Harvard and Cornell! Who cares about Southern Tech?”
In other words, the same way that I look at the University of Phoenix. A university I don’t actually have a whole lot against and may at some point get a degree from. If I do, though, the Southern Tech frame stays.
